I do not want much from the stereo. The factory tape deck must go with the stock speakers. The stock paper cone speakers were not close to good when new. After twenty years, the paper looses the stiffness and the output gets muddy. Even cheep after market speakers make a difference. I would like to have a full size subwoofer. Not to thump or blast out the windows, but to round out the music. The Fiero has no room for a good subwoofer, so I will be going with the factory 5" subwoofer box with an after-market woofer and amplifier. For the deck, I will be going for a stock Pontiac unit. I do live in a safe neighborhood, but do not want to temp anyone walking by. The 2000+ Pontiac CD players look just as crappy as the stock Fiero deck and should not stand out.
